NEW XANGA i've also got a new email address: blakwyte@gmail.com ... basically, shyeah_it_is takes too long to type in
---
alright so i couldn't resist using this layout any more ... it's just too cool
so i haven't updated in over two weeks!!! ... i think there's something wrong with me
last week ... kwiatkowskis came over and hung out ... we hit each other with pillows and watched a movie (not necessarily in that order ) ... and we jammed and listened to muse and played poker (or something involving something like money ) until emily basically fell asleep and decided to drive home ... yeagers had to work sadly ... i was about to slaughter some serious boss ... age
[insert a week at work/ doing homework]
went to coffeehouse and hung out with brad and em on friday ... saw iA which was amazzing ... even if the crowd wasn't too enthusiastic ... and went to CVS (don't ask ) ...
part of the sunday club was at my house until early this morning hitting each other with pillows (pattern, anyone ) and shoving each other into ditches (again, don't ask ... unless your name starts with emily ... in which case you're most welcome apolo ... er comment ) ... i know it doesn't sound so hot, but you have to put up with alot if you're going to have the crazyawesomest friends on the planet ... i'm sorry the rest of you weren't able to make it ... sounds like one fraction of the missing parties was doing something involving a MAAACHIIIIIIIIIIINE!!! so maybe we shouldn't feel to sorry for him, eh?? | | |
| jammed with my uncle today, went to work, wrote history essays, went to sleep ...
this is one of the songs we layed down today ... i wrote it about two weeks ago ... hopefully i can convince brad to fit some lyrics to it and i'll finish it up the next time i go down to charlottesville ...
so yeah ... tell me what you think about the instrumental part ... the end is a little sketchy cuz we were playing around with the effects, but i didn't bother to change it ... it's just an intro, verse and chorus, i could have put the repeats in but it would have been totally boring without lyrics ...
chord progression and tab ... for nate-the-theoretical-genius and anyone else who cares ... i obviously took some improvizational liberties but ... it would have sounded pretty dry like the tab ... anyway, you get the basic idea ...
and it's copylefted as clearly indicated on the tab ... don't mess with the public domain ...

| justin: "she looks like a watermelon"
em: "oo guess what ... this is the guy who used to live in our house" me: "oh sweet ... so did he live in you basement or something??"
em: "but you're never there when you aren't there!! how would you know??"
th3w: "we now return you to our regularly scheduled p'wnage!!"
em: "could you do donuts in the parking lot??"
em: "i don't know why he get's on my nerves so ... wait ... is that ...??"*points backward* me: ... "no" em: "o ... mg"
rachelle: "we were both really hungry, so i asked her if she wanted to get food at giant ... and she said 'oh ... they have food at giant??'" em: "nooo!! i meant edible food!! that you can eat!!!"
very funny
in other news, panera is pretty cool ... although i only got out of work about an hour ago and i'm going back in the morning ... at least they're paying me right?? ...
history is this close to being fixed ... one essay to finish up for the week and i'm freee ... eeee!!!!111!!!42!!!eleventy-one!!!11!!
this is one of the songs brad and i were/ are working on for the coffeehouse ... it's "t3h-aw3someX0r" as y0sh would "liek, say it6 .../.. k??" ... i think it sounds better on acoustic too ... which is always a bonus ... just like dare you to move ... i should find an acoustic version of that sometime and put it up ... it sounds awesome ...
and speaking of switchfoot (if you're on the broadest of band and happen to be rachel y. ) check this out ... live video of switchfoot in studio playing 4 songs off the new album + one of their singles from last year (can't remember which) with an interview ... and yes emily i am totally still obsessed with beautiful letdown ... | | |
| "In May 2005, Arctic Monkeys released their first EP, Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys, featuring the songs "Fake Tales of San Francisco" and "From the Ritz to the Rubble". This release was limited to 1000 CDs and 500 7" records, but was also available to download from the iTunes Music Store.
"Their popularity rapidly grew after several shows. James "The Sheriff" Sheriff (now webmaster of the band's official website), put the contents of Beneath the Boardwalk – a renamed upload of one of the band's demo CDs - freely available to download from his webpage. These tracks quickly became available on several peer-to-peer file-sharing networks."
who said p2p filesharing killed bands??
"In the space of just a few weeks the Arctic Monkeys have gone from being relative newcomers to becoming a household name.
"People rightly draw comparisons with Oasis, but in terms of sheer impact, where a band has come from virtual obscurity to achieve huge, overnight chart success, we haven't seen anything quite like this since The Beatles."
"Their first gig came in 13 June 2003 at the The Grapes in Sheffield city-centre.
"Two and a half years later, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not became the fastest selling debut album in UK chart history selling over 360,000 copies in the first week, including a massive 118,501 in the first 24 hours. This smashed the previous record of 306,631 copies held by Hear'Say with their debut Popstars"
i think that's pretty sweet
unfortunately, england's the only place where an indie band can have a number one album anymore ... we get 50 and Ludacris ...
i hope they realize they'd still be in "da hood" if it weren't for MTV ... not a fun place to live ... especially if you can get rich without even trying | | |
| i found this awesome site while i was looking for the music for ruled by secrecy ... i'm pretty sure it has every song muse has ever done up through absolution ...
to bad you can't download ink ...
there's also a free legal version of the keyboard part for this song here ... | | |
